Chai is making his first Championship start. He has top-10 finishes in both of his World Amateur Golf Ranking starts this year, including ninth in an event in China in late September. In 2023, he had three wins and six top-10 finishes in World Amateur Golf Ranking events. Earned his third win of the year in November in China when he shot a final-round 66 and then defeated Xihuan Chang on the fourth playoff hole.
