Williamson is making his fifth Championship start. Has competed in the Asia-Pacific Amateur in New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and Australia. In June, he finished fourth in the Rarotonga Amateur Open in the Cook Islands. He won the Rarotonga Amateur Open in 2017 and 2020 and finished runner-up in 2021 and 2022.
